This pretty, sparkly bracelet will add a bit of glitz to any occasion and has been hand made using the Japanese technique kumihimo.
The beads featured are cut miyuki seed beads in crystal AB and pink. The 'cut' element of them means that the outer edge of each bead has been cut into an hexagonal shape, giving them a faceted look with lots of sparkle.
These beads have been strung onto 8 strands of cream coloured S-Lon cord which have been brought together using the above technique to create a striped design.
The cords have been finished with silver plated end caps and the bracelet fastens with a silver plated toggle clasp.
The width of the beaded braid is approximately 6mm (1/4") and the bracelet will be a snug but not tight fit on a16.5cm (6 1/2") wrist.
Kumihimo is Japanese for 'gathered threads' and was first done as a form of finger-loop braiding that has since evolved into a form of braiding that can be done using only cords, or with beads added into each knot.
The sparkle of the seed beads.
