I paint graphic-based visual art, inspired by music, film and travel. I take classic record covers, film posters and transport art as a starting point, and hand-paint everything on canvas or wood. Commissions welcome!
I've always been a massive music fan, and a love of record sleeve design goes hand in hand with this. I've always loved doing hand lettering (I also work as a sign painter and window graphics painter) so I decided to combine these two passions. I've always loved the music of New Order and Peter Saville's graphic design. The graphic design on this LP cover is really beautiful with the band's name printed on transparent paper in silver and black overlaying the main sleeve photography. It was also a nice challenge to hand-paint the clean and neat Helvetica font.

Hand painted canvas inspired by the record sleeve artwork on New Order's 1985 LP Lowlife.
Acrylic paint on canvas prepared with a clear primer and stretched on a hand-made wooden frame measuring approx. 32inches x 8inches x 1.5inches deep.This painting would make a great gift for any music fan and lover of classic sounds and design.
