Full description

The gold filled wire brings out the gold flecks in these striking cobalt blue lapis lazuli teardrop beads, and they are a great way to add a touch of glamour to your outfit. They’re just made to catch the sun on a bright summer day!

The beads are facetted teardrops of lapis lazuli, wrapped with gold filled wire and suspended from handmade gold filled ear wires. The drops are 13mm (about half an inch) long/

What does ‘gold filled’ mean?

Gold filled jewellery lies somewhere between gold plated and solid gold. With gold filled wire and findings you still have a layer of gold over a base metal core, but because of the way the gold is bonded to the core you get a much thicker coating than you do with gold plating. This makes it much more durable so it shouldn’t flake or wear away with normal wear, unlike plated jewellery, and it is a much more affordable alternative to solid gold. It is also sometimes known as rolled gold.

Every item in Nanuk Jewellery is individually hand made, making it completely unique. If you would like something altered, an existing design in different materials/colours, or something completely different, please feel free to get in touch as commissions are always welcome, and we can discuss making something original just for you.
