This cardigan is not only comfortable for a baby to wear, but also incredibly cute with the pale pink accents. The pretty scalloped edging on the collar, sleeves and along the bottom hem are just perfect for a precious newborn baby. Created using a loose stitch, this cardigan will move with a baby, instead of being restrictive.
A blend of cashmere, merino and acrylic wool gives this garment a luxuriously soft feel, but it is still practical as it can be washed in a washing machine. No need for dry cleaning, just a simple wash at 30 degrees. The three wooden buttons give a lovely natural feel to the cardigan- they can change in appearance slightly once washed, but this just adds a unique quality.
All sizes are standard, the same you would find in popular shops. As everything is handmade, there may be slight variations between each item.
This cardigan was inspired by a pattern on patternsforcrochet.co.uk
Whenever I went round to my grandparents house, my grandmother always had a knitting project on the go. Seeing her obvious love of making things for her children and grandchildren inspired me to attempt knitting. After many failed projects, I decided to try crochet.
Years later, I'm still crocheting, creating my own patterns and loving every minute. Since my two nieces were born I've been determined to improve my skills, and follow in my grandmother's footsteps, by moving onto clothing. I've lost count how many times I've made a variation of this cardigan, but it's still one of my favourites!
