I AM IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING ITEMS FROM THIS SHOP TO MY OTHER FOLKSY SHOP 'Lynwoodcrafts' where they will be waiting for you to view them! All my items now feature upcycled, recycled, repurposed or gifted materials and there is no longer any distinction between the two shops!
A little stack of cardboard tubes (centres from cotton threads and adhesive tapes), and my stash of vintage linens, laces and buttons have combined in this design.

SALE Previoulsy £17.50
A beautiful and unusual trinket box fashioned from scraps from an embroidered vintage cloth, bright golden yellow felt, vintage buttons and a cardboard tube.
Three fragments of embroidered linen have been combined to cover the 'walls' of this pot - embellished with vintage lace, the embroidery repaired and enhanced with some additional orange 'spots'. The lid outer was a more heavily embroidered fragment needing only a little extra embroidery. The lid and base have been cut from card taken from recycled greetings cards and the body of the box is a cardboard tube taken from the centre of a crochet thread ball. The box is entirely lined in a wool blend, bright yellow felt (bought as recycled offcuts from commercial production) and this is also used for the outer base.
Bright orange crochet cotton has been used to hand-stitch the box and to crochet the picot trim which decorates the lid edge. Cords crocheted from this cotton provide stays for the lid. The box closes by winding a crocheted cord (trimmed with an orange, ceramic bead) round two vintage buttons.
