Tulipwood was a bit of an out of the ordinary choice but once the spoon was finished it seems to have proved itself. Even after oiling the pale colour remained and a few olive coloured grainy streaks in the bowl gives it a bit of character.

Full description

A creamy white cooking or serving spoon handcarved from Tulipwood which came to me following winter storms in a local arboretum.

The total length is 11 inches.

Finished with hot culinary grade linseed oil.

In use- to care for the spoon-wash it after use by hand and let it dry naturally. Every once in a while when it's dry, give it a rub with walnut (as long as you're not nut allergic) grape seed or cooking grade linseed oil. A bit exotic maybe so at a pinch use olive or cooking oil.

Dishwashing machines are the enemy of all wooden utensils - never put your spoon in one
