Made using traditional jewellery making techniques I have pierced out a square for each earring which I have textured with a hammer before soldering on a smaller square and adding detail to each one.
I have left on some of the patina which has come from when the metal was heated during the soldering process which complements the design and gives these earrings a nice rustic look.
The squares measure 14mm x 14mm and I have added to each earring an 8mm sunstone and an amber nugget.
Made from sterling silver, these earrings bare my makers mark LRH on the reverse.
Please note that I source all my silver from a reputable UK supplier.
I like to experiment with silver and love to layer, creating frames and pictures. I have kept these earrings quite simple but have allowed some of the patina created during the soldering process to stay which gives them a more aged appearance. For warmth I have added sunstone and amber beads which are beautiful stones to work with.
It is said that the norsemen used sunstone as a talisman to help them navigate on their travels. I would like to think that the wearer of these earrings will enjoy their own adventures.
