Introducing my Joysofglass Fused Glass collection. All handcut by me, decorated and then fused in my kiln.

My glass fusing kiln is only small so these fused glass pieces are all one-off designs, no mass production possible.

This is a paperweight made in a pyramid mould in my kiln using rainbow layers of coloured glass. At the top I've created a volcano effect with glittery clear red dichroic glass. The base is the other end of the spectrum in purple and pink and decorated with millefiori beads.

The pyramid has to be fired twice. Once very hot in the mould to melt all the glass pieces and frit into shape. Then it is fire polished out of the mould with a more gentle firing program to shine the sides as they are dull when they come out of the first firing where they touched the sides of the mould.

It is 7cm square at the base and 4.5cm high. It weighs just overr 1/4 kg so weighty enough to hold all your papers in place and a lovely talking point if you keep it on your office desk.

It also makes a uhique ornament in its own right..

This is a lovely tactile piece. Solid and satisfyingly weighty and a handy shape.

It will be sent smothered in bubble wrap in my rather innovative (takeaway) packaging which can be used as a gift box and also keeps it very safe for postage.
