I love strong bold images and when I saw this image I instantly fell in love with it, and when I read the story behind it, I fell in love with it that little bit more.
It's a beautiful story and an equally beautiful image which would make the perfect Valentine's (or birthday, or anniversary or just because you're a lovely human being and want to..) gift don't you think?

A hand cut and hand pressed Lino print reproduction of the 'Lovers of Valdaro' - the perfect Valentine's gift with a difference.
This striking image is of the 'Lovers of Valdaro' - two 6000 year old skeletons that were found in 2007 in Italy. The man and woman - who scientists believe we're no older than their twenties - appear to have died facing each other, arms around each other, as if they were in a "lovers' embrace". How hauntingly romantic?
The print is made from a Lino block which I have hand cut and then hand pressed using high quality water based block ink and acid free paper - which won't fade or yellow over time.
The print is mounted in an off white frame which I have hinge mounted to a back board of the same colour. The hinge mounting method allows the print to breathe and helps to prevent warping which can occur, due to the natural variation of humidity in the environment.
Please note the black frame is for illustration purposes only and WILL NOT be included with the print.
The actual print measures 6x8 inches and 8x10 inches when mounted and will be sent to you in a protective cellophane bag and in a hard backed envelope.
