Full description
A handmade necklace approximately 18" in length, featuring Lapis Lazuli,
Lamp work beads and glass crystal beads. Finished with a silver plated toggle clasp.
Properties of Lapis Lazuli : an opaque deep blue stone containing inclusions of white calcite and silver or gold pyrite, prized since antiquity for its intense colour. As early as the 7th. millennium Lapis was mined in Shortugai and is still mined there today. It has had many uses throughout history, dye for cloth, eye makeup and as a paint pigment; creating ultramarine, much prized in Michelangelo's day.
Lapis is a manifestation stone, excellent for meditation. It has a strong energy and is very empowering. A harmonious stone encouraging honesty of the spirit. Resonates with the third eye and throat chakras.
Lamp work Beads : each one of these glass beads are handmade, a technique dating back to the 14th. century in Murano,Italy. Every bead is simply a little work of art.
I love the contrasting colours of the rich blue Lapis and the golden yellow beads. It reminds me of Bluebells and Buttercups growing in the woods.
All of my necklaces are unique, one off pieces. The stones and designs are never repeated.
