Introducing the little Queen Annes Lace and Nettles Purse, this is the start of a new creative relationship between myself and my husband John Bloor who specialises in textile design. This is the first of our collaborative partnership, based around the theme of boundaries.
This purse is a fantastic gift either for yourself, or for someone with equally good taste! Each purse is unique and expresses individuality rather than conformity. The screen printed fabric is a limited run, and so there will only ever be a limited run of these purses, or others that feature this fabric. With the unique felt and two tone stitching this is an unusual and beautiful gift to give and receive.
It’s great for carrying cash, or all those little things you lose at the bottom of your bag, by being padded it will keep all your goodies safe.
Made using natural linen, plus Johns beautiful hand screen printed linen, and then with my own handmade merino and silk felt stitched over the top of the linens, land finished with a lining of pale blue cotton.
Each purse features a vintage mother of pearl button, on the suede tag. Each button, like the purse, is unique, and has its own tiny history.
Please do remember that each one is handmade and unique, so will never quite match the main image.
dimensions: height - 9cm x width - 11.5cm
I was inspired by walking both on holiday in Cornwall, and near our house in Hampshire. The mixture and interaction between boundaries and the plants that grow through them.
