I have a series of creatures bursting out of tins... in my head. This is the first one I have brought out of there and I couldn't be happier with the result. I hope you like it too. x

Tinned Octopus
Welcome to the listing of my tinned octopus. It's a textile sculpture where seven octopus arms comes bursting out of a tin (originally containing marinated octopus, not my favourite but my husband likes it :) ).
I made the octopus from unbleached cotton that I painted with several layers of watery textile paint, finishing with silver flecks. The suckers are hundreds of glass beads in decreasing size, hand sewn on so they lay flat. Each arm is wired. This piece can either hang straight on the wall or sit on a shelf.
It's a unique, fun and highly detailed piece of textile art. It measures about 20cm from bottom of tin to tip of octopus.
Be careful when handling the tin as it has really sharp edges.
