I've turned quite few bowls. My eye fell on our supply of dowelling in the Shed and I thought "what if I inset some dowelling, would it turn and come out as roundels?". Result!

Full description
Fruit bowl turned from mahogany (10" x 3") with inserted through-drilled beech roundels - just to see if it worked. It did. Then I realised I had the makings of a clock, so I bought a digital mechanism, with a view to advertising a "clockwork orange bowl". It didn't fit. Better luck with Version Two, now on the bench ... but do buy this one!
