Sorry I'm taking a break from Art & Crafts at the moment

I really enjoy working with ink on tiles though you can never predict the end results as the ink spreads of it's own accord, I love the challenge in 'taming' the ink to create beautiful artworks

Full description

Daisy Mixed Media Artwork, handpainted on ceramic tile base with metal leaf, glitter and inks.

An original small work of art handpainted with alcohol inks on ceramic tile with added glitter and metal leaf. I have added a good coat of resin to protect and seal. This painting is approx 3.75 x 3.75 inches (9cm squared) and sold with a display stand. The tile is intended for decoration and display purposes, I have used UV resin to protect though you should keep out of direct sunlight as you would watercolour to preserve the vibrant colours.

To achieve the translucent effect on this painting I have created my art by dropping ink onto the tile. The tile allows the ink to 'flow' creating wonderful patterns that are difficult to achieve on regular paper. The wonderful shapes are created by moving the ink around with a cotton bud, sponge and rubber. Once dry I add the glitter and metal leaf and seal with resin, which add depth and durability to the painting.

I paint all my own artwork to my own designs, usually based on my interpretation of places I have visited, or things I love so you can be sure of owning a truly unique item.
