This is an Illustration of the familiar view of Park Hill Flats that can be seen from Sheffield Train Station. It is going back in time to the 1970's when the playground was there which was recently depicted as part of the Brutalist Playground exhibition curated by S1 Artspace. This is why I have used sepia tones as my main colour scheme.
It is an A4 Illustrated print and would suit anyone interested in Sheffield, architecture and history. It looks great framed up and would brighten up a space in any home.
The Illustration is printed onto 210gsm uncoated Matte paper which has a lovely feel to it. My work is printed locally to a professional finish and all are hand signed to the right side of the prints. In this case, Park Hill will be written above my signature too.
I send all my prints in a hard backed envelope sealed in cellaphane to ensure a safe trip to you.
I recently saw the S1 Artspace installation of the Brutalist Playground and also watched a documentary about it where residents from when Park Hill flats first opened were speaking about their positive experiences of the housing project. We had a family friend that used to live across the road from the flats too and when I was younger, I used to fascinated by the building and still am. I would love to live there for a while, surrounded by the city and having the options of transport in and out of the city on my doorstep!
