About Illustrator Kate

Illustrator Kate

Colourful, detailed Illustrations and cards inspired by people and places. I think they look great on the wall!

Hello! So I am freelance Illustrator based in the fantastic Sheffield. I graduated from Loughborough University in 2007 in Illustration which was the best thing in the world. Since then, I have worked full and part time in various jobs, mostly working with young people in the arts whilst continuing to Illustrate and make my art in my free time. Last year I took the step towards making Illustration a serious business and I am now selling my artwork at stalls and festivals, online and to commission. So far, I am having a great time and loving seeing what I can produce now I have dedicated more time to my passion.

I create colourful Illustrated prints inspired by my local surroundings, travels, people and stories. I doodle my ideas in my sketchbook, experimenting with composition and colour and then create textures using paints and collage onto a variety of papers. I then scan these into the computer, along with the sketchbook drawings and put them together on photoshop to create the final piece.

I then get my Illustrations printed onto quality matte papers ready to be framed or kept as a simple poster print.

I also create commissioned pieces for those wanting something a little more bespoke and special. I have illustrated scenes in people’s lives for birthdays, weddings, honeymoon gifts and more.

My aim is to have a range of friendly illustrations that make people feel good looking at them and hopefully want to buy them for either themselves or other people (or both!!)..... So I hope that I am achieving that. I definitely am having the best time making them in my little home studio with my music and old lady cat of 18 who spends most of her time asleep at my feet.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy scrolling through my pieces, let me know if you have any questions!
