Full description
Inspired by a photograph of a sunset over the Clwydian Hills, this miniature woven tapestry is a unique piece of textile art.
Crochet cotton, in a chocolate brown shade, forms the warp threads. The yarns, which are drawn through these to form the design, are various mohair mixes. The trees are stitched in embroidery thread.
The miniature tapestry is stitched to a piece of felt. The design is framed by two rows of couching, in 'knitting ribbon'. The first row is a blend of golden colours, including a metallic gold thread, to accentuate the colours of the design. The second is a mat 'chocolate' colour.
The brooch is stiffened with interfacing and the back is neatened with matching felt, blanket stitched in place. A brooch pin will be securely stitched in place before despatch.
