I came across a set of these little books at a local auction and thought they were really smart - such a perfect size for secreting a special gift. Red bindings and Charles Dickens - What could be more festive?

At Popinjay, I rescue tatty and unloved books, and turn them into something new and lovely.
This pretty little antique Dickens book has been turned into a gift box, small and light enough to place on the Christmas tree: An ideal place to hide a special festive treat, such as a ring, earrings or cufflinks. The book measures approximately 15 cm x 11 cm x 1.5 cm, with an interior of approximately 14 cm x 9.5 cm x 1 cm. Inside it has been lined with contemporary Christmas craft paper. The book can be tied closed using the ribbons.
As with all antique/vintage items, this may show signs of wear such as scratches, creases etc... All these just add to the character and the authenticity of the piece.
