The inspiration from making this little pendant comes from living by the beaches in Dorset and finding fabulous shells to make lovely pendants

This little shell necklace is actually made using an a shell that I found on the beach here in Dorset. I pressed it into clay, then fired the clay which made what is called a sprig mould. I then take a ball of clay and press it into the sprig, then carefully take it out by using another ball of clay like a plunger! I pierce a hole in the top so that I can add a bail to hang the shell from. I then carefully let it dry. Once nearly completely dry I sponge off the edges. After it has dried it is then fired, glazed three times, then fired again. Quite a process but beautiful results. All my ceramics go through the same drying and glazing process.
Hanging from a sterling silver pronged bail on a sterling silver 18 inch diamond cut trace chain.
Gift wrapped in an organza bag ready for giving.
