Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. The re-purposing of vintage threads and fabrics, and the re-cycling of vintage linens and lace, are recurring themes and my listings include a small selection of vintage textile supplies.
A pretty winter sunset landscape, with a tree stitched over a landscape background of layered lace, forms the design of this hand-stitched fabric brooch.
Scraps of lace have been layered and hand-stitched over a background of white felt. A tiny tree has been hand-stitched in coordinating linen thread. The completed design has been reinforced by a layer of interfacing. The design has been finished by stitching over the edge in blanket stitch using coordinating cotton threads. The back of the brooch is neatened by a layer of felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.

I love stitching miniature landscapes. Whilst trying to decide how much of may lace stash to keep, this idea occurred to me. I like the result and will be stitching more like this!
