I really like the Art Deco designs of the 1920`s as they are particularly suited to marquetry interpretation. Combined with the spectacular grain pattern of the burr veneers I think this design creates a very attractive box.

Full description
This box would grace any dressing table and is an ideal size to store your jewellery or other treasured items.
It is made from solid recycled mahogany and decorated using carefully selected burr veneers.
I have chosen an Art Deco design and contrasting woods to bring out the beauty of the grain.
I have added solid brass hinges, red baize inside and a brass catch to ensure the lid closes snugly.
The surface of the box is finished to a silky smooth matt finish using hard-wearing polyurethane varnish and wax polish.
Each box on my site is made from basic raw materials and a design is never repeated so each box is truly unique and therefore special.
