Full description
This scarf has been nuno felted using very fine layers of a blend of sea green merino wool and rainbow strands of trilobal nylon on a blue silk chiffon base material. The resulting scarf is amazingly soft and lightweight. The addition of the nylon strands gives the scarf a glitzy effect when light catches it which is difficult to illustrate in photographs but is just about visible in the 4th photograph. The scarf has been felted on both sides.
Nuno felting is a technique which allows the woollen fibres to penetrate the underlying silk and bind with it.
The scarf is a dress length scarf designed to be draped around the neck rather than encircling it although the presence of the wool and silk will provide additional warmth in the winter but will remain cool in summer. It measures approximately 130cm x 40cm ( 51" x 16").
A fabulous addition to your evening wear and an ideal gift idea. It is supplied gift boxed.
Hand wash in warm water, do not wring, roll in a towel to remove excess water and reshape while damp. Press on a warm setting (wool/silk) or using a pressing cloth. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
