In 2013, my husband and I moved to Bali, Indonesia. In our two years in the region, we saw first-hand the devastation caused by palm oil cultivation: the loss of virgin forest that is home to endangered orangutans, tigers, and so much of the world's biodiversity.
We knew we wanted to become part of the solution and slowly began weeding palm oil out of our lives. I discovered that all of my store-bought soaps, lotions, washes, shampoos, and cosmetics had palm oil lurking in their ingredients labels, if not directly, then in the form of sodium laureth sulfate, cetereal alcohol, and so many other guises.
We decided to marry our mutual love for nature and animals with my passion for botany and aromatherapy, and it was then that Bloomtown Botanicals was born. In 2015, we moved to my husband's home county of Cornwall to dedicate ourselves fully to making ethical, nourishing and deliciously scented goodies for bath, body and home.

Say no thanks to synthetic detergent and palm oil-laden hotel soaps! Our handmade, hand-cut soap hearts are mini versions of our signature, Bloomtown soaps, so now you never have to be away from your favourite non-drying bar. Each heart lasts 1-2 washes and can be placed inside a washcloth for extra lather. Makes a great graduation gift!
