I’ve always been a fan of turning flat-pack furniture into something different as it’s being assembled and this stool is proof that an item doesn’t have to be old before it can be transformed into something a bit more exciting.
The fluffy top was inspired by one of my favourite stories, The Lifted Lorax by Dr Seuss (do read it if you haven’t already – you might need tissues). And if you have read it, you’ll be pleased to know that no Truffula trees died in the making of this stool.

Full description
This stool seat was made by making a firm dome of tightly covered foam and then wrestling sheepskin over the top, so it is really comfortable.
All the joints have been glued and screwed for strength and the screw holes finished with oak pegs. The wood has been lightly stained pale grey.
