Shades of Autumn is a lovely warm poncho that is great for wearing with jeans and over a top for a smart-casual look. Ponchos make a great alternative to jumpers and this one provides ample warmth. The colours are reminiscent of the end of summer as leaves begin to change colour. This design features bold blocks of autumnal shades with butterfly motifs. It is smart enough for a special occasion and comfortable enough for regular use. A matching accessory bag can be ordered separately.
Shades of Autumn Poncho is constructed using a versatile square motif from the pattern Good Cause Afghan by Joyce Nordstrom. I used the perfect patterned poncho by Bernat as a guide for arranging the squares and for the edging. I then embellished the neck draw cord with the Autumn Berry Flower by Jenny Dickens. Within the centre of the flower I have added a metal bronzed button.
The yarn and finished item is suitable for machine washing. I would recommend removing the flower before washing to avoid damaging the button.

Colour: Russet, Natural, Brown and Green
Yarn: Stylecraft Special Aran with wool (80% acrylic, 20% wool); Robin Aran with Wool (75% acrylic, 25% wool).
