This listing is for the solid silver open ended cuff-style bracelet or bangle shown in the photos - a small size twisted band approx 2.6mm (0.1") thick. If you want something similar in a different size please contact me.

This is made from Argentium 960 silver, purer than sterling with some special properties, including enhanced brightness and tarnish resistance - for more info, contact me. It has been fully hardened so it holds its shape well, though there is some flexibility - the ends can be held apart a little to help ease them over your wrist and will spring back to their original position. (Care should be taken not to force them apart too far or the shape will be permanently altered.)

To check the fit on your wrist see the diagram (last picture above), dimensions as follows:
A - diameter at narrowest - 40mm (1.58")
B - diameter at widest - 53mm (2.08")
C - width of gap between ends - 18mm (0.71")
D - inner circumference excl gap - 132mm (5.2")
full inner circumference incl gap - 150mm (5.9")

It weighs about 6.65 grams (0.235 oz). Any silver item over 7.78 grams in weight must be hallmarked to comply with UK law - this one has been hallmarked even though it's below the threshold. I am registered with the London Assay Office who test the silver for purity and apply the hallmarks. Argentium 960 is marked 958 (Britannia Standard, minimum silver content 95.8%).

Why choose Argentium 960 silver?

Pure silver is too soft to be practical for jewellery, so it is normally alloyed with other elements for strength and durability - traditional 925 sterling is 92.5% silver plus copper. Argentium 960 is 96% silver plus copper and a small amount of germanium which gives it some special properties. It is purer than traditional 925 sterling yet can be finished to a greater hardness. Argentium does not form firescale/firestain, so does not require plating and is naturally brighter and whiter than platinum, white gold and other silver alloys. It is highly tarnish resistant, therefore low maintenance, easy to care for and simple to keep clean. And it has excellent hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties, so is a great choice for those with sensitive skin unable to tolerate traditional sterling silver. Furthermore, Argentium is produced using only reclaimed/recycled silver - so is environmentally friendly and socially responsible.
