A celtic style brooch pin for holding your shawl or cardigan together. I made this kilt pin from 1.25mm bare copper wire. This was then tumbled for 6 hours to work harden and polish to a high shine. Two coats of museum quality Rennaisance Wax were applied so as to preserve the shine. The charms have red multi faceted agate gemstones. Great for fastening jackets, cardigans and shawls. I will send this in a gift box.
The point of the pin has been sharpened and smoothly polished by hand, but is rather thick and best suited to open weave fabrics such as knitwear and jackets. I carefully position the point of the pin within the latch so that the sharp point is protected from scratching you or snagging clothing in wear.
Copper is a soft material and the pin needs to be opened gently and eased through the fabric without undue force, to protect the shape, but with a little care in handling of this nature, it will give you a lifetime of enjoyment.
Celtic themed but with a modern twist, that's what I aimed for. I find inspiration in the famous designer Linda Jones' work.
