When I found this gorgeous silk yarn, the obvious thing to make with it was a scarf. I made one for myself in this pattern, expecting to keep it for special occasions, and ended up wearing it every day. It was so soft and practical, that I just preferred it to all my other scarves.
I then made another, and another, and some for presents for friends, and it has become my favourite yarn to knit with and wear. Unfortunately, it is very expensive, so I am limited in what I can make with it, but I've also treated myself to a cardigan and poncho.

This lilac scarf is made from a plumptious 8-ply silk yarn, making it soft, warm and sumptuous. The diagonal ripple pattern allows the scarf to drape and lengthen gracefully. It is perfect for a special occasion, or when you want a touch of elegance on a windy day.

It is impossible to show the accurate colour of this scarf - it is lilac, but I can't get a consistent colour in the different lighting used in my photos.
I fell in love with this very expensive yarn as soon as I first knitted with it, as the only silk yarns I'd used before were very thin and wispy. This is a dream to knit with, and suits items that need to drape.
