On a recent train trip east, I was inspired by the layers of trees in the landscape as night fell. There was a trick of the light, like looking at a photographic negative and I wanted to play with the shapes of the trees and the spaces between them. The colours are limited to midnight blue, and tones of taupe, grey and blue.
The original was created with paint, ink, collage and machine stitch.
This digital print is of the highest quality on etching paper and is backed by the Fine Arts Trade Guild. From a run of 100 prints, signed and numbered by me. Unframed, It measures 275mm x 275mm with a 70mm white border. Comes polypropylene wrapped to protect the print.
The trees in late winter layer themselves creating a pattern of positive and negative shapes that dance in the moonlight.
