Whilst fusing glass will naturally produce small champagne like bubbles I was interested in controlling the formation of them and using them in the design. The process used here has two layers of sheet glass with two layers of stringer glass sandwiched in between. The result is a neat pattern of bubbles in a grid.

Full description
Measuring approx 8.5cm x 8.5cm and standing 8.2cm high this fused glass candle holder was first fused to a flat tile at 800 degrees Celsius, before going back into the kiln and draped over a stainless steel vase mould. The square tile folds over in the heat to create this tulip-like piece which holds the larger tea lights. The intentional bubbles were created in the first firing by adding a pattern of glass stringers between the layers to create a uniform pattern.
Whilst displayed in the images as a candle dish it is also ideal as a dish for sweets.
