The most amazing thing about cultured pearls is that the mussels which produce them can be made to make them in the most incredible shapes. Crosses, hearts, crescent moons and, as you see here square. This seems very quirky for something that one would expect to be round! The fact that they are square means that the iridescence is much more visible and it is possible to see the rainbows of light play across the surface of these beads. So why embellish them further?

Full description
These unusual square freshwater pearls have a simply incredible lustre and rainbow iridescence. They are formed by culturing freshwater mussels. The colour and shape are determined by the available space the mussel has in it's shell and by it's genetics so they are a wonder of nature. These eye-catching beads have been mounted on my own sterling silver head pins and wire which I make at my home in Sussex. The earrings themselves measure a very dainty 35 mm 1 1/4" and come boxed ready to present to your loved one.
