Hallmarked open anticlastic bangle, handmade in sterling silver, etched with a skin pattern and oxidised.
The sterling silver from which this bangle was made was first etched with a reptile-skin
pattern. It was then formed into a basic bangle and forged by anticlastic raising to give it the curved shape. The bangle was then sawn to create the open ends.
The anticlastic shape graduates from a tight curve in the centre to a gentle one at the open ends, which are complemented by the angled cut.
To highlight the skin pattern and the bangle’s overall shape, the bangle was oxidised to a deep grey. The high points of the etched side and the bangle’s edges were then polished back to the natural silver colour, to provide contrast and shine.
The internal diameter of the bangle is approx 6cm. (Please remember to measure the widest part of your hand when held in the position to slide on the bangle - feel free to message me if you are unsure.)
The bangle has been hallmarked at the London Assay Office and carries my individual maker's mark.
Your bracelet will arrive in a gift box, posted in a bubble envelope.
