Item details
Hello, and welcome to my Folksy shop.
This illustration was inspired by the work of the Victorian artist John Frederick Lewis (1804-1876). Lewis was hugely celebrated during his lifetime and, like many of his contemporaries, drew much inspiration from visits to the Middle East. This particular painting was entitled A Houri. It's a pity that the popularity of Victorian painters seems to have waned, as they still have so much to give to us.
I offer a range of drawings and photographs, mainly in black and white, which has a timeless quality to it. I will be adding more from time to time, so do come back and check things out.
Many thanks for looking, and hope to see you again.
Valerie
