This bowl is hand thrown and decorated using the wax resist method. This is where the decoration is drawn in liquid wax and then paint applied to the whole surface. During the firing process the wax is burned away, leaving the design. I love this method of decoration as it gives a soft, slightly undefined appearance to a design without a hard edged look.

Full description
Large black and cream coloured soup or side salad bowl with leaf design. It measures 18 cms across and 8 cms high. The bowl is hand thrown and decorated and fired to stoneware. It is tough and durable and microwave and dishwasher safe.
