I have always liked birds, and I enjoy making them from porcelain and choosing textures and patterns with which to decorate and glass them.
They make lovely gifts and several of my friends have built up a collection of them as I often give them as gifts at Christmas. although many tell me they leave them hanging out all year round. Well they do make for colourful company and bring their peacefulness with them!

Additional terms
All items and creatures in the family of The Porcelain Menagerie are made from high fired stoneware or white porcelain and as such are as fragile as glass. They are vulnerable to being chipped or to break if dropped. Please treat with care when handling as items damaged by being dropped by the buyer will not be considered faulty for refund. Variations in the glaze and patterns on my porcelain hand-made items form part of the unique character of each piece and are intentional. Please note, these gifts are not toys and are therefore unsuitable for small children to play with. All items posted will be safely wrapped to protect them on their journey in tissue paper, cushioned and boxed for posting. Thank you for buying from my small business!

Full description
Red is traditionally the colour of love, so I make these little red glazed doves from fine white porcelain, high firing them with a bright poppy-red glaze for a dainty little keepsake, ideal as a love token.
Hand printed and painted, they are also a peaceful addition to any Christmas tree or to hang up at home in the window or as a decoration to a wardrobe key. Some have used them as gift tags for special presents too.
