Full description
The pendant is made with .8mm thick rose gold coloured wire which at first is created into the heart shape using mandrels, then "work hardened" (making the work firmer) using a nylon hammer (which stops the wire from becoming marked) on a metal plate.
Excess wire is left at the top of the heart which later is formed into a bail (where the choker necklace is fed through). The bail is created with a basket weave using a fine .4mm wire to create a beautiful fabric effect.
To create this wonderful 3d heart effect, .4mm wire is attached to the heart and beads are threaded on an secured at intervals over the heart. This takes time to fill spaces with an array of gemstones including rose quartz, amethyst, clear quartz and crystals which catch the light beautfiully.
The next stage of the making process is to create dimension & texture on the top of the heart. This is done by shaping the rose coloured wire around round nose pliars..
The final touch is added with the wire coils. These are made by winding .4mm wire onto something called a coiling gizmo and these are threaded onto a thin wire frame and wrapped into the pendant.
The choker necklace is made by winding 6 separate lengths of wire and using a spiral tools to create, shaped then hammered to harden the wire.
