Full description

This carved guinomi is as sturdy and heavy as a small rock but still very useable as a drinking vessel. The outer glaze is a traditional Japanese style Oribe glaze with additions of metal oxides which have created some attractive rivulet patterns. I especially like the way the clay body shows through clearly on this piece where the glaze is thinner. The inner glaze is a transparent ash glaze with some slight speckling from wood ash deposits.

Measures just over 2.25 inches tall and a touch over 2.5 inches across the base. Mark Smalley's personal seal has been impressed to the underside.

Postage and packing for this piece will be at a fixed cost of £3.00 for economy delivery within the UK.
