I wanted to make a tribute to David Bowie. I was drinking a cup of tea when I heard the sad news that Bowie had died (I'm nearly ALWAYS drinking a cup of tea) and the shape of the steam reminded me of Bowie's lightening bolt make-up on the Aladdin sane album cover. I decided to adapt my 'Shipping Forecast and Cuppa' design in honour of Bowie. The juxtaposition of a flamboyant music legend with something as mundane and everyday as a cup of tea made me smile.

Very special screen printed tribute to David Bowie and a cup of tea, two great British institutions.
Inspired by Bowie's iconic 'Aladdin Sane' album cover, a blue & red stripy mug of hot tea with a lightening bolt of half-tone steam above. Based on my popular 'Shipping Forecast and Cuppa design, this print was screen printed by hand in my home studio whilst listening to David Bowie (obviously!).
This is a handmade product, small variations, mis-registration and general wonkiness and make each print unique.
There is an area of slightly uneven ink on each print, on the right hand side next to the lightening, if the print is lit at an angle it is noticeable, when it's framed behind glass it becomes much less obvious. See 4th listing photo for a close up. This print is priced to reflect this flaw.
- Hand printed in my studio-cum-garage.
- Each print in the edition is signed, titled, dated and numbered.

- Paper Dimensions (A3) 29.75cm wide by 42cm high
- Print dimensions 25.4cm wide by 36cm high.
- Four-colour screen print (the blue and red from the Aladdin Sane album cover, milky tea beige and black)
- Printed on quality Seawhite 220gsm cartridge paper.
- Fits a standard A3 frame. Can be flat mounted or you could have a mount/matte cut.
- Free First Class postage in the UK
- Sent in a cello sleeve, rolled, in a sturdy cardboard mailing tube.
