This is an A4 printed Illustration of the old Hole in The Road in Sheffield City Centre. It is one of Sheffield's most memorable (and quirky) landmarks. It was filled in with rubble in 1994 but definitely lives on in peoples memories!
This would make a nostalgic gift for those who remember the Hole in the Road and it's always a good conversation starter at my stalls. There is a lot a detail to pick out within the image, all carefully researched.
It is made through scanned in painted textures and worked up digitally.
This is a full colour, digital print onto 210 gsm, uncoated matte paper with a 3cm around the edge of the image suitable for framing. I have my work printed locally to a professional finish and will post it out to you in a hard backed envelope to ensure no bends or creases.
The total size of the image is 29.5cm x 21cm (A4 size)
I used to go into the Hole in The Road when I was about eight years old. It was looking pretty shabby at that point but I always liked to see what people were selling. Going into the Hole in The Road usually meant a day out which seemed exciting at the time! I loved researching how it used to look, the quirky facts and enjoyed the challenge of getting the composition right.
