THIS PIECE WAS MADE COMPLETELY ON THE LATHE, THERE WAS NO HAND CARVING AT ALL, IT WAS QUITE GOOD FUN!! IT CAME FROM THE FORK OF A LILAC TREE. WALL THICKNESS OF THE ARMS IS NO MORE THAN 5mm. THE SPREAD BETWEEN THE BRANCHES IS 7 1/2 INCHES. IT NOW STANDS JUST A METRE IN HEIGHT ON A COPPER ROD WHICH IS 14 INCHES LONG THE VERY BASE IS A PIECE OF IRON PYRITE.
MEANT PURELY AS A SCULPTURE PIECE WITH NO OTHER FUNCTION APART FROM AESTHETICALLY , WITH ITS HEIGHT PERHAPS A FLOOR STANDING PIECE.
IT WAS TURNED RELATIVELY GREEN AND NOW FINISHED WITH DANISH OIL
