This greeting card is of the Library Stairway in central Leeds. The original image was a screenprinted artwork by myself, Leeds based illustrator Simon Lewis, originally produced in 2011. The Leeds Library is an amazing public building dating from 1808. Some of the details that decorate the insides are incredible, and in this image I’ve chosen the staircase which feature detailed mosaics, stone carvings and intricate stained glass windows. This is a 4 colour screenprint, based on a lunchtime sketch from the opposite staircase.
The card has been digitally printed onto a textured 300gsm matt white card.
It's sized - 5x7", 12.7cm x 17.8cm portrait when folded.
Comes with a white envelope
The card is blank inside
Giclee prints and original screenprints of this image are also available.
I'm always drawing and doing prints of Leeds. This building's intricate detail inspired me.
