This original textile brooch has been created using handmade felt, embroidery, and some sparkly crystal beads. The design is inspired by the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Art Nouveau period, which I have always loved.
The handmade felt background is a mix of pink, green and white wool and silk fibres. The embroidery and stitching is in pink and green. Three crystal beads add a bit of sparkle.
The outside edges of the brooch are hand-stitched together. The back is purchased felt, with some stiffening to give it a bit of structure, and it has a silver toned brooch pin with safety clasp.
The brooch measures 2.25 inches diameter (about 5.5 cm) and is presented on a backing card with a white envelope in a cellophane bag, ready for giving or keeping.
