A versatile multi-season shawl in a stunning colour! My light and lacy version version of the Transposition Shawl by the talented designer Joanne Scrace is made using anti tickle 100% pure new wool that was produced in the UK. It is one continuous thread with no joins, just a beginning and an end. The size is great for wearing as a scarf in winter or for wrapping around the shoulders on a summer evening. The pattern for the shawl is based on a composition of music, raising or lowering the scales but keeping the intervals the same. The stitches start dense and then open out becoming lacier towards the edge of the triangular shawl.
I was unable to capture the beautiful colour well in the photos. I find that purple is a shade that always looks quite blue. I can assure you that it is a deep violet similar to winter violas.
