I love to use different colours and shapes of pearl mounted in a fashionable style of jewellery. These button pearls have been deliberately created by the pearl farmers by manipulating the cavity in the mussels' mantels which is used to grow the pearl. It is a clever technique that can produce all kinds of shapes from classic round, through cross and heart shapes to narrow stick and irregular keishi pearls.

Full description
This is a fashionable double bar necklace with a twist. Instead of two plain metal bars, I have strung each with mysterious, dark peacock pearls, so called because they shine green and purple in the light. There are five pearls on the bottom rung and seven on the top on and all are mounted on a sterling silver chain measuring 17" or 430 mm in length and fastened with a bolt ring clasp. The pearls are cultured freshwater pearls that come from farmed mussels.
