Full description
Gertie the seal is named after Gertrude Ederle, the first woman to swim the English Channel. Gertie wears her favourite bathing cap decorated with a golden starfish. There is a bladderwrack seaweed design painted around her.
Gertie the seal is painted on to a scalloped wooden oval, with some detail in fine pen and pencil. The oval measures 8.9 cm x 10.9 cm and the wood is 3 mm thick.
This is an original work, and one of a kind.
The painting has been varnished, and has a hook on the back so that it's ready for hanging. It has also been signed on the back.
Gertie the seal will be sent securely packaged, by first class post with proof of postage.
