I love the sea but live too far away from it and an intrigued about anything to do with mermaids,
This mirror was a custom order for a beach house in California...........perhaps I could go and visit her one day..................
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Magical mermaid bathroom mirror made to hang on a hook in your bathroom or for that matter anywhere else in your house...............you may not want to hide her away in the bathroom!
This beautiful legendary sea creature is made from hand tooled pewter, she is pictured surrounded by beautiful happy fish and swirling lines and bubbles suggesting the ebb and flow of the sea around her.
This mirror measures approximately 20 inches high by approx 8 inches across the base narrowing to approx 2 inches at the very top where there is a steel loop for you to hang the mirror from a hook in the wall. This mirror is now sold................in fact she swam all the way across the atlant
A little about my process.
I hand cut the mirror in to an approximate triangle or wedge shape, which is then edged in pewter, I then design and work the focal images directly in to the metal a process called repousse work where I push the metal from the back using a variety of hard tools, frequently turning the metal and adding more detail from the front. When I am satisfied with the design it is given a thorough clean, carefully sanded down and dipped in patina to darken the metal. The work is hand polished to bring out all the highlights and details resulting in a truly original and unique piece of metal wall art.
I can further customize my mirrors by perhaps adding a name or including a starfish, or maybe a seahorse to the design. It is also possible to add a colored stone at the top.
