While retracing the steps of David Hockney through the Yorkshire Wolds we spent some time taking in the architecture of the estate cottages in the historic village of Sledmere. The village is tucked neatly onto a rise in the chalk hills and it's 19th century red brick buildings seem rather grand for such a rural setting.
Gary spotted these chimneys on top of one of the larger workers cottages and then further into the village we spied some busy Jackdaws hopping about between the chimney stacks. Photos where taken and brought back to the studio with ideas for a new print and here is Gary's finished print.
