Full description
This attractive stained glass Yellowhammer panel features a hand painted glass roundel depicting a cheeky yellowhammer sitting in a hawthorn tree with pink blossom, framed with attractive stained glass. Richly coloured, this beautiful panel glows beautifully in the sun. Totally unique, it will make an interesting gift for that person who is hard to buy for.
This one is made to order, so please allow two weeks to make.
For the stained glass framing the hand painted roundel I have used best quality glass of different textures and effects, using sapphire blue and jungle green art glass to stunning effect. The panel takes on a life of its own when light shines through.
The yellowhammer roundel is hand painted (not by me) using traditional stains and enamels, and fired several times in a special glass kiln so that the painting becomes part of the glass. As it is a hand made item, the colours on the bird panel may not be the exact same.
The panel is created using the traditional Tiffany technique and the solder is finished off with a black patina. The exterior is encased with a lead frame to give it extra strength, and finally, it is all polished up with carnauba wax to give everlasting shine.
Approx 21.5 x 21.5 cm (8.5 x 8.5 in), it comes ready to hang with two soldered rings and a metal chain. The hand painted circular glass panel is 16 cm (6 in) in diameter
