I love hillwalking and the Glencoe Mountains areione of my favourite areas. The Lost valley is a basically a hidden valley and accessed a few hundred feet up in the mountains in the pass of Glencoe. As you walk up the path leading through the pass, it opens up into a huge hidden valley (glen) surrounded by mountains including the highest mountain in the area ,Bidean Nan Bian which is the mountain to the right of centre at the back of image. I have been to the Lost Valley on numerous occasions over the last thirty years and have now just got around to painting it which is probably 25 years too late. I love to give vibrancy and colour to my image and do this using a vibrant palette of greens purples and blues.
