As a textile artist I dye and draw on fabrics. I have started to experiment with eco dyeing and printing - using natural leaves and plants to dye cloth and paper.
I have discovered how to gently steam leaves, berries and seeds layed on water colour paper for a few hours to create a 'print' from the leaf, berry of seed.
To me this is magic and I love it.
Mixing water and paper is not always sucessful, but when it is, the results can be lovely.
Creating delicate and understated whispers of the plants.
These images can be sent as blank cards or mounted to make pretty wall art.
Every print is as individual as the leaf that created it.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Leaf Contact Printed Cards, Pack of 5
I have eco printed these pretty blank cards using leaves and seed pods from my garden and surounding headgrows. The print from the leaves is taken from the plants using the eco friendly process of contact printing.
The process involves pressing the leaves between water colour paper and gently steaming the paper for an hour or two. As you will realise not all the prints work, but those that do are beautiful showing the detail of the leaves and seeds.
The printed paper is mounted onto a blank card and can be used as a unique greeting card or can be framed to create a lovely delicate picture.
This listing is for 5 different cards (they are all different!) each one complete with envelope and celephane bag.
The cards will differ slightly from the images shown.
Every print is as individual as the leaf that created it.
